Plain-language commitment. This document is written to help learners, parents, teachers and school administrators understand the rules without specialist legal knowledge.
1. Urgent safeguarding
If a learner may be at immediate risk, contact the learner's school safeguarding lead or the appropriate Sierra Leone emergency/public-authority channel first. Do not wait for a routine technical-support reply.
Report bullying, exploitation, threats, unsafe messages or inappropriate content to an authorised teacher or school administrator. Preserve the relevant subject, conversation and approximate time, but do not forward harmful material to people who do not need it.
2. Account and sign-in help
- Use Forgot your password? on the sign-in page for a verified email account.
- Ask the school LMIS administrator to correct a school, role, class or parent-to-learner link.
- A teacher must be onboarded and verified by an authorised administrator before they can offer subjects or access learner work.
- Never send a password, two-factor recovery code, push token or examination answer to support staff.
For a lost or shared device, sign out where possible and ask the school administrator to revoke the account's mobile sessions.
3. Learning and mobile help
When reporting a technical problem, provide the app version, device model, operating-system version, subject/activity name, approximate time and a screenshot that contains no unnecessary learner information.
For offline learning material, download the approved document, audio or video while connected, keep the signed-in app session available and reopen that same activity. Live classes, new messages, progress synchronisation and newly assigned content require internet access.
Notification permission can be enabled in the LMIS mobile profile and in device settings. Push alerts intentionally hide chat text, feedback and grades from the lock screen; open the authenticated app to read the full update.
4. Account and data requests
To request access, correction, restriction or deletion of personal information, email info@mbsse.gov.sl with the subject MBSSE LMIS data request, or contact the relevant school administrator. State the account email, school, role and the type of request. Do not attach a password or unnecessary identity document.
MBSSE will verify the requester's identity and authority before changing an account or learner record. Some assessment, attendance, safeguarding, audit and official education records must be retained even when an account is disabled. Information that is not required will be deleted or de-identified through the approved process; backup expiry follows the published retention schedule.
Parents or guardians requesting information about a learner must use the school's verified guardian process. A deletion request does not automatically remove the learner's official school record.
